Uncle Toney began in 1957 when he apprenticed with Paul Buck Homes in Gainesville Texas and there he was introduced to the art of wood working. His first task was learning to make wood windows, doors and cabinets under Robert Reynolds for the building trade around north Texas.

In late 1961 he moved to Houston Texas and was introduced to jobsite construction methods with several specialist including McMillan Homes in west Houston area, and ultimately with Blackstone Builders, Bob Cabannis, William J Harrington, where he worked for many years in Timber Cove, El Lago, Nassau Bay area building homes . 

He worked in several celebrity astronauts homes early on, with more names to numerous to mention. In 1993 as sub contractor for Newland brothers and Renaissance Builders he ultimately crafted the custom stairway for the President of The United States, Mr. George Bush of Houston Texas. 

The largest home uncle Toney has been associated with was about 15,000 sq. ft. With numerous other jobs in River Oaks and surrounding area of Houston Texas.
